Frequently Asked Questions

What to Expect

What sets Physio Room apart from other traditional physical therapy options?

Physio Room provides quality one-on-one sessions with the Doctor who is an expert in your specific activity or sport. Most physical therapists rely on assistive personnel and cannot offer the undivided attention of one of our Doctors of Physical Therapy for the duration of your visit.

We create a plan for your specific goals. This plan will not only calm down your pain, but solve the problem at its root, and reload your body for peak performance in competition and play.

What can I expect in my first physical therapy appointment?

At your first visit, one of our Doctors of Physical Therapy will evaluate, treat, and diagnose the root cause of your symptoms. They will then provide treatments based on their findings, followed by education about your condition and creation of a home program and treatment plan.

Your doctor will create a treatment plan including the types of therapy needed, recommended home exercises, and the projected number, duration, and frequency of your sessions.

Who will I see when I come in for a visit?

You will be paired with one of our Doctors of Physical Therapy who is an expert in your sport, activity, or injury.

This doctor will understand the lingo and the specific movements of your sport or activity. Here at Physio Room, we prioritize this compatibility between client and doctor as it enhances communication and helps us dial in the perfect treatment plan.

What types of treatments does Physio Room offer?

Our doctors stay up to date with the latest technology and treatments. We frequently research and receive new certifications to provide you with cutting-edge, evidence-based physical therapy practice. We offer…

  • Prescribed Exercise
  • Dry Needling
  • Adjustments
  • Spinal Manipulation
  • Deep Tissue Laser Therapy
  • Massage
  • Cupping
  • Graston (a form of soft tissue manipulations)
  • Manual Therapy

Are any of the treatments painful?

Some treatments may cause mild discomfort but never pain. Our first goal is to reset the body by reducing pain and inflammation in the injured or agitated area of the body.

Physio Room does not subscribe to the “No Pain No Gain” status quo as it does not align with your long-term healing.

What should I wear when I come in for a session?

We recommend loose-fitting and athletic clothes that allow you to move easily.

Additionally, your PT may need to perform treatments that require skin-to-skin contact above and below your injury.

Will I have exercises to do at home?

Yes, our treatment plans include at-home exercises. Your Doctor will tailor these daily exercises to your exact goals and level of progress. We want you to have the very best tools and support to continue your healing in between sessions.

How many sessions of treatment do I need?

Every client’s recovery is different, but on average our clients spend about 10 sessions with us. In these 10 sessions, you will progress through three stages: Reset, Restore, and Reload.

You will see improvements much sooner than 10 sessions, but going through the entire plan will provide results that last.

Insurance and Payment

Does Physio Room Accept Insurance?

The short answer is “Yes.” Physio Room is In-Network with Medicare and Tricare. You may have a copay with this coverage. The long answer is “It depends.”

Although Physio Room is out-of-network we communicate with all insurances to define your out-of-network benefits. Many insurance plans have at least some form of out-of-network coverage, especially once your deductible is met.

We favor out-of-network care because the best treatments for your recovery may not be covered by insurance, and we refuse to have insurance dictate your plan of care.

The real question to ask is, What is your goal?

  • Is your goal to use your insurance?

OR…

  • Is your goal to get better?

These two goals are not always compatible.

But if your goal is to get BETTER and get back to your favorite activities with long-term results – You’ve come to the perfect place.

How much does Physical Therapy cost in Colorado?

For in-network services you can expect a copay between $25-$100 per session. However, these services cut costs by only allowing 10-15 minutes of face-to-face time with the doctor. The rest of your session is spent with assistive personnel. Additionally, the treatment and services you receive will be dictated by the insurance company, and not necessarily what is best for you.

With out-of-network services like you receive at Physio Room, you can expect to see the Physical Therapy Doctor for the entirety of your hour-long visit.

As the saying goes “You get what you pay for” and Physical Therapy is no different. The price per session will have a direct effect on the quality you receive.

How much does Physio Room physical therapy cost?

Every client’s plan is unique to their needs. Not all visits or plans are the same, so we encourage you to connect with us over the phone. Our amazing front desk attendees will listen to your concerns, pair you with a compatible Doctor and provide you with your expected cost per session.

At Physio Room, whether using insurance or not, we will tell you exactly how much you’ll be paying and what value you will receive.

No surprises.

In-Network versus Out-of-Network. Why does Physio Room prioritize Out-of-Network care?

In-Network refers to a health care provider (such as a Physical Therapist) that accepts health insurance to provide a fixed number of services and/or treatments. Predetermined plans often focus on insurance coverage over the client’s real needs.

Because we work out of-network it frees you and our clinic from the restriction of predetermined treatment plans made by your insurance provider. Your insurance provider is not a doctor and they have not assessed your pain or reviewed your movement goals.

Physio Room works out-of-network because we want YOU to be the number one priority when creating your treatment plan.

Isn’t Out-of-Network Physical Therapy more expensive?

You might think that in-network physical therapy is more cost-effective. However, in-network Physical Therapy relies heavily on assistive personnel to co-treat 3-4 patients at the same time with generic protocols. They cut the cost by cutting your time. At best you will receive 15 minutes (one-on-one) with the Physical Therapy Doctor, and the rest of the time is with a tech (nonmedical personnel).

With Physio Room, the full 60 minutes session is spent one-on-one with your Doctor’s undivided attention. You would have to attend and pay for 4 in-network sessions to match just 1 out-of-network session with Physio Room.

Unfortunately, most in-network Physical Therapists are extremely limited by insurance coverage. You may receive treatment that calms your pain temporarily but likely has little or no long-term results. Because this relief is temporary your PT treatment is ongoing, and this adds up!

Our goals for you are to relieve pain, restore homeostasis, and reload your body for long-term results. When you come to us there will be a set number of sessions that prioritize quality over quantity.

We want to get you back to your activities and out of the Doctor’s office ASAP.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, on your first visit, you and your Physical Therapist will decide on a treatment plan, and we’ll help you arrange your desired payment plan.

Because we do not rely on insurance companies to predetermine the coverage of your plan you will have a set rate that you can count on. No unexpected bills.
